Why Optimize Your Website for the Search Engines?By Reinhardt Gallowitz It has come to my attention that nearly 90% of off-line business owners lack the understanding of why it's so important to optimize their websites for the search engines. Off-line business owners are very traditional. They focus heavily on their brand as well as off-line advertising. They also concentrate on referral marketing seeing that word-of-mouth is among the top ways for most off-line businesses to advertise themselves. However, the majority of businesses do however realize the importance of having a website. If not, they are generally informed about the importance by a web designer. Web designers are just that...designers. They majority of them don't know about online marketing. So the off-line manager will usually find the website to be fantastic and with that comes the belief that they will be receiving an abundance of new clients. It just never happens because the website is not visible online. This is where SEO experts come in. Search engine optimizers will approach off-line business owners in such a way as to inform them of the importance of online visibility. This approach however does not come without some 'eye brow raises'. Off-line business owners will generally regard search engine optimization as just a money burning process. They don't realize the effect it can have on their business and consequently sends the SEO expert out the door. However, the managers who do realize the importance of SEO and who assigns such a project to an SEO company or expert will usually experience fantastic results. Their company's offers will be available 24/7 365 days of the week. Their website will act as a 'super' salesman and will constantly drive new clients to their business. It's usually businesses that do not get a very big response from their off-line advertising who uses SEO and online marketing. Brick and mortar businesses like fencing or even power generator companies normally steer far away from online marketing because they don't see how online marketing can assist them in selling their niche products. This is however a costly decision seeing that bigger companies who DO market those niche products have established themselves online and are all reaping the benefits. This all comes down to a core principle: Get your business online! If you are reading this article and you have a off-line business, then I highly recommend you contact your nearest SEO company or expert as soon as possible. The return on investment when it comes to SEO is much higher then any off-line advertising method. The mere fact that you can track online advertising, puts off-line advertising to shame. You might think that the demographics of your current customers do not fit the online profile, but you'll be surprised how many people actually use the internet to search for certain niche products and services on a daily basis. By simply getting only ONE customer per month from your website means that you will in turn generate 12 new customers a year. Those are customers you would not have gotten if it was not for online advertising. Now usually you'll get more than one a month. I'm just using the minimum figures here. Having a website that is ranked in the Search Engines is an ASSET. Once you set something like this up it's almost a set and forget system. You DON'T have to spend thousands on advertising like you currently doing and it will work as a professional salesman. About the author Are you interested in SEO for your business?
