Finding The Right Accommodation In Bath

By Anna Stenning

Planning a visit in Bath can be a simple procedure if one is not so picky about where they stay or choose as their temporary accommodation. However, some people prefer to reside the more historical accommodation in Bath, rather than sharing a room at a cheap hostel. Cheap hotels are good if you are looking to save money and are not planning on experiencing the luxurious bath houses and spas. The downside is that they may not be situated so closely to the heart of Bath city.

When staying in Bath one would ideally prefer to be staying at an accommodation in the centre of Bath, which overlooks all of the famous and historical sightseeing areas. This is true for most short breaks and holidays, with this being of particular importance, as Bath represents one of the first major cities where the Roman Bath houses took place. The site in which the main Bath springs were founded from the Romans was kept as shrine for the Celtic Goddess Sulis, which the Romans identified as Minerva.

Getting an accommodation in Bath which is near the popular sights is always going to be more expensive and difficult to book. These rooms are normally always in demand because more people prefer not to spend the extra expensive on transportation to get to places of interest. A break in Bath may appear expensive however; the prices of the accommodations normally include the services and facilities that cut out any extra expenditure.

Staying in a hotel that is close to the city centre will mean that you will not need to spend money on taxi runs, buses or any kind of public transportation. These are usually located within walking distances from the main sight of the Roman Baths main springs, which is the backbone of what makes the city so significant. This is the only City that has running water pumping from the natural hot springs, which is utilized by the famous Thermae Bath Spa.

Bath is also famous for being the home of many writers, including Charles Dickens and Jane Austen. The Royal Crescent that sits nearby the Jane Austen Centre, was purposely built for Royal individuals to stay at and attract other wealthy magnates. The hotel makes for a great hen weekend, wedding venue or honeymoon break depending on what people want. This is not a cheap option to go for, therefore if one is looking for a luxurious break then this is the top choice for first class accommodations.
