How Do Essential Oils and Wrinkles Work?

By Karen Graham

A question that I often get asked, as an aromatherapist, by my clients is concerning the efficacy of essential oils for example. Do essential oils and wrinkles really work?

Absolutely! Some essential oils are fantastic for the skin because of their cytophylactic properties, (encourage cell regeneration).

There are many essential oils useful for this purpose ranging from Rose & Neroili right through to Frankincense.

They are able to work because of their minute molecules that allow them to be able to penetrate through the skin into the blood stream and because they contain such a diverse number of molecular chemicals they provide us with many wonderful benefits.

Not only essential oils but also seed and other carrier oils provide fantastic emollients for the skin.
In addition fish oil is wonderful for us. Fish oil and wrinkles make another good combination.

Having a regular intake of fish oils lubricates the joints and also provides the much needed omega 3 type essential fatty acids, amongst other nutrients, that our bodies need to perform the multiple functions that it has to each day.

For thousands of years, oils, flowers and plants have been used to enhance the beauty of women and it is wonderful that we are using them for the same purpose today.

In fact it is not necessary to have to go to an aromatherapist to get a product that is tailored for your skin to ensure that essential oils and wrinkles work. Many companies use extracts and oils in their anti-aging products.

But a word of caution! What good will it do you to have the added benefit of these superb natural wonders if they are added into creams that are so heavily contaminated with synthetic chemicals and at a dilution rate that the main benefit you derive from them is their smell and little else?

Make sure that when you buy a product that is already blended for your skin that the base product is also made of natural ingredients and especially without the use of mineral oil or its derivatives.

Essential oils and wrinkles make a winning combination, by using them you will help to combat wrinkles as they work on many levels within the body, physically and emotionally.

Finally do not forget fish oil and wrinkles; eating them is like having internal lubrication for all of your cells. It is also essential brain food and how we look after ourselves on the inside, shows very much on the outside.
